The Control of Noise at Work Regulations came into force for Great
Britain on 6 April 2006. These regulations reduced the first action level to
80db and the second action level to 85db.
Although the regulations are clear, many companies do not comply with them,
leaving the management vulnerable to prosecution, and workforce perhaps
vulnerable to Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL).
